Clematis 'Etoile Violette' climbing through our old rose |
After a fabulous show in June (see
GBBD June),
Clematis 'Etoile Violette' is clothed in purple star flowers again. It started in September and continues to look great this first week of October.

The
Driveway Garden is full of purples at the moment, with
Geranium 'Rozanne' blooming steadily on since sometime in July. The white grass on the left is the new
Miscanthus sinensis 'Dixieland' the I added in early
September.

It is nice to remember June again!
(See
June 2011 to relive it at Gilmore Gardens.)
Great use for an old rose-bush! ;-)
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful flower!
ReplyDeleteWow, always fun when plants rebloom! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThis was a very purpley post. I love that clematis, it is one of my favorites.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous clematis. Love that purple!
ReplyDeleteI love clematis especially purple ones and this one is a keeper. My "Crystal Fountain" clematis is blooming profusely again and it was unexpected....what a lovely garden treat!!
ReplyDeleteI have roses not only flowering for a second time but also sending up ridiculously long stems. It is all quite interesting
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! You captured its beauty so well. My jackmanii is blooming as well. It is nice to see the blooms once more before the cold sets in.
ReplyDeleteI bought and planted this clematis in spring 2010, and it succumbed to our horrible summer that year. After seeing your photos, I will have to try again.
