Muscari aucheri 'Ocean Magic', Anemone blanda 'White Splendour' and Sedum 'Acre' in our curb strip this weekend.

I just had to share this pretty combination from our curb strip this week! The spring woodland windflower,
Anemone blanda 'White Splendour', is a beautiful flower to plant to add with daffodils or under tulips for your spring displays. (See A. 'White Spendour' with Tulipa 'Prinses Irene' last year in our garden.)
Or it really draws out the white tips in the grape hyacinth, Muscari aucheri 'Ocean Magic'. Add a covering of Sedum 'Acre' underneath these tiny beauties for best effect!

Julie a fabulous combo and Ocean Magic is one of my favorite muscari. I have a patch already coming up too. We had some warm days to accelerate the plants but today is cold. Good day I hope to do more garden clean up.

beautiful Julie, I love blue and I love daisy type flowers, the sedum gives a nice background and as you have mentioned before doesn't need cutting like grass, clever you, strong winds this side of the Atlantic, Frances

ReplyDeleteSo pretty! I love the tiny little leaves of the sedum with this combination, too. What a stunning picture it will be with the serviceberries in bloom!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful combo! Sedum acre is just the handiest thing to have around. It plays well with succulents, too.
ReplyDeleteI have muscari growing wild in my yard. It comes up everywhere. I don't know if someone planted some before we bought the house, or if it just grows wild around here, but I love it! I also have, what I believe is called "false garlic" that comes up wild about the same time. I think I should move some of the muscari around where my tulips and doffodils come up. Your curb garden is just beautiful! :)

I planted 'White Splendor' around some of the trees and rose bushes in my front yard, and now I'm berating myself for giving in to the urge to plant circles of anything around trees - the little daisy-like flowers would be so much better scattered among my daffs and tulips instead of being isolated. Gardening is such a trial and error learning process! Perhaps I'll get out there at the end of blooming and transplant the 100 little plants to better spots?
