Cherry Corner Garden ~ First Week of May 2011

Continuing our series for the First Week of May...

The Cherry Corner Garden is sited on our busy corner with a four-way stop.  And it gives everyone something pretty to look at I hope!

The planting here has developed over the past 3 years, given what I had on hand with just a few additions.  Narcissus 'Pink Charm' presides this year over the Muscari armenicum, Heuchra 'Palace Purple', and variegated loosestrife, Lysimachia punctata 'Alexander' (above).

View down the front yard path to the weeping cherry...

Anemone blanda 'Blue Shades' with the loosestrife shoots (Lysimachia punctata 'Alexander'), that are so rewarding throughout the whole growing season.

View of our new trellises around the Circle Lawn this year...

I have loved these trees since I was a child.  So ethereal...

Virginia Bluebells (Mertensia virginica)

Muscari armenicum and variegated loosestrife, both mounded nicely.

A few extra pretties from the Front Walk (which is just starting to bring its color forth): yellow-centered Primrose under a forsythia bush.

Check back for our continuing series for the First Week of May all this week!

  1. I LOVE your picture of the weeping cherry blossom! I also love that tree. It's blossoms are such a pretty pink, and I love the way all the petals overlap!

  3. Very beautiful with all my favorite plants: no wonder people stop to chat and compliment you. I can't believe how well your Anemone blanda has filled in.
