Blue and purple hydrangeas in my Hydrangea bed. Only ericaceous mulches for these lovelies! (pine needles... oak leaves... no mushroom compost.)
A new hillside of Helleborus orientalis that I will just revel in next spring. :)
A few clumps of one of my favorite grasses, Japanese Forest Grass, Hakonechloa macra 'Aureola', under the first white flowers of the snoothleaf hydrangea, Hydrangeaarborescens 'Annabelle', also in the Hydrangea bed.
It was a very hot August! I did not water as much as I should have but I think everything survived anyway. Thank goodness for the resilience of plants!!
Hillsides full of Hydrangeas, Hellebores, and Hakone grass--who could ask for anything more! August is lovely there. :)
