A munching bunny story...

I am pleased to feature a story on WMG today written by my hubby, James! You will soon see where he got his inspiration when you read the introduction. Read the rest over at the parenting site that he writes for regularly, the Story Warren.

In a cozy hole in a big old garden behind a big old house lived the most excited young rabbit in the world. His name was Smudge, and he was not born in the big old garden, which is why he was so excited to live there now.

Smudge was born several doors up the street, where the lawn was specially treated to be sure nothing grew but grass. There was little to eat there, and Smudge and all his brothers and sisters were sent away as soon as they could hop, to find places for themselves in the wide world.

Have a great weekend!

  1. I loved the story! It reminds me of a little bunny we saw in our front yard just the other day. We once had many rabbits, until a fox moved in and cleared them out. So we were happy to see the little bunny, though we are fearful for his life. We saw him again a few days later, and we are hopeful he will survive. The best thing about this bunny is that he was eating weeds in the front lawn, so he is making good effort to stay in our good graces. No hot pepper dust for him!

    1. Glad you liked it! Sounds like your bunny is a keeper :) We have a few wild rabbits, who have very nicely been keeping to the clover in the lawn this year since I added some more in the patches that were thin. And we have our cute pet bunny too, Ginger. She likes to run on a lease and eat the clover before the other bunnies get it! :)

  2. What a cute story! I'm still not convinced to appreciate rabbits, but they are cute. Over the years, I've found ways to deter them, repel them, or just tolerate them.

  3. I love my bunnies...they love the clover we grow and keep away from most other plants.
