See the map for the location of the Front Walk at Gilmore Gardens.

Since our current view is a snow one (which you may see in my photostream of "Current Views of Gilmore Gardens" in the right-hand column), I am posting these succession planting pretties instead for Carol at May Dreams
Happy GBBD!

  3. Beautiful! You have mastered a difficult garden art. And nice to know it's all there buried just waiting for the snow to melt.

  4. Love seeing the progression of the garden. I think the thing I most miss, living in Barbados, is the change of seasons, yes, even the snow, lol.

  5. What a beautiful front walkway. Do you end up weeding out many of the myotosis seedlings every year?

    1. Rosie,
In the past 4 1/2 years since we have been gardening this house, I have kept enlarging the area that is ornamental by removing the grass. I have not yet reached the point where I am throwing out seedlings or plants, and am always thinning them out and tucking them here and there. I really am looking forward to evening out those areas in the spring... that is what I call "light, fun gardening" since it is more like puttering than sweating it out. :)
      Thanks for your encouragement!

    1. Some love the gardens; others think I am nuts! I am a bit fanatical, but no matter the current opinion, it makes me and my family happy.

      Thanks for reading along!

  11. Those tulips in the first image are lovely, pale pink and darker purple are a lovely contrast. This is a great series of posts, I'm really enjoying them. Christina

    1. Thanks for your kind encouragement! I will be working on a full post about this garden soon. I love rhythm in a garden, and especially in one my size and being in the front yard, I think that it helps it not look like a mess when people whiz by our corner.

    1. Francoise,
So pleased that you find my gardening encouraging in your own. Yes, none of these are expensive plants, or even the newest varieties... but they work so much better together than alone. Hoping to write a full post on this area soon.
Thank you for your kind words!

  14. Thanks for sharing your front path. I have a border of a similar width along my front drive which I have struggled with but seeing your border has really helped. Are those Nepeta in the summer pics or Russian Sage?

    1. Helen,
Nepeta indeed; N."Walker's Low". I will hopefully be able to get out a full write-up as I have with my other succession plantings. So glad that it helps!
