Many wisteria don't flower because they have been grown from seed rather than a grafted cutting. I've been having internet problems (hopefully now resolved) so haved kept up with all the posts I usually follow closely. As you know I love wisteria and although it can quite high maintenance it is worth it for its lovely cool shade. I've seen standard wisteria but never trained as a tree; stunning, I really would love to try this! where is there space????????????<br />ChristinaChristinahttp://myhesperidesgarden.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5266054126005966461.post-43132303099427934312012-05-31T08:10:27.799-04:002012-05-31T08:10:27.799-04:00Julie, thanks for linking to my blog. I guess that would make most of them nearing 40 years old, though some seemed younger than others. They are currently struggling because of the shade from those beautiful bald cypress trees. Apparently they are considering replacing them with lilacs... so sad I think.Wife, Mother, Gardenerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10601987822088200476noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5266054126005966461.post-45407953181408771442012-05-30T15:54:35.482-04:002012-05-30T15:54:35.482-04:00I would love to! I have two little 'Blue Moon' wisterias starting to grow up supports on either side of my house. They haven't bloomed yet as they're only 2 years old. It's hard to be patient, but at least these are an American wisteria hybrid instead of Chinese or Japanese - those Asian wisterias are supposed to take a decade or more to get large enough to bloom. Of course it wouldn't take as long in an area with a longer growing season than Spokane. So are you going to invest the years of patient care to make your own tree form?VWhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17539135776275337661noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5266054126005966461.post-568662436952659362012-05-30T11:06:18.192-04:002012-05-30T11:06:18.192-04:00Absolutely stunning and what a super way to grow t...Absolutely stunning and what a super way to grow them, if only I had known that when we moved here 21 yrs ago!
