Mystery Plant... more mystery...

Six yellow stamens, six petals...
I posted a photo of this mystery plant last week with the Trillium... and it has bloomed this week but I am still stumped!

small green flowers with a slight dark center...
Woodland setting with the Trilliums. Who am I?
Could it possibly be in the orchid family? I have been looking into native orchids and have not turned any up yet that look like this one.  Any guesses?

Have a great weekend!

  2. Julie, I don't know what it is, but you might try the 'Leafsnap' app. Leafsnap is the first in a series of electronic field guides being developed by researchers from Columbia University, the University of Maryland, and the Smithsonian Institution. Lmk if you id it!

  5. Whatever it is, it is lovely! I've never seen anything like it in a garden book, catalog, or growing wild here. Perhaps a native eastern wildflower? So cool!

  7. Oh, I think Cheryl is right! Green False Hellebore. I don't remember seeing them around here, but it says they're native to the east and west U.S. The flowers are pretty, and I like the shot with the spider!
