A Few April Flowers at Havenwood

Trout lily, or Dog tooth Violet (Erythronium americanum)


Crocus tommasinianus was finally up on April 23rd this year.

  2. I love having Erythroniums in the garden. It took a long time but end of April spring has definitely arrived at your place. Enjoy springtime in your new garden!

    1. Thanks Janneke! We are still more than a month behind our normal spring, but we are going to start having some truly hot weather this week... time to get moving in the garden! I will be posting some new photos of our improvements soon.

  3. It is such a wonderful time when you have a new garden, waiting to see what will pop up! Erythroniums are so beautiful with their pretty flowers, they are over so quickly, but it is worth it!

    1. They cover a large area too! A very nice surprise, when most of the garden is sparse to say the least. I have always wanted a large patch of these though, so it is worth adding the rest of the pretties! :)
