Hope grows...

 "Look, Mommy! It's a robin!!"

Grace, my four-year-old, pointed out the window as she sat at the table eating breakfast this morning.

"I'll grab my camera!"  That was me, of course.

As I thought about a post to describe my hope for the season, I was struck by how this picture describes both the result of my past hopes (hope fulfilled) and what I am waiting for:

It is Spring! The robins are here in western Pennsylvania!

And next month, I look forward to being able to stay out gardening after dinner
hands in fresh mulch, seeing new blooms everywhere...
and listening to the robin's song in the evening.

Thanks to Sweet Bean Gardening for the prompting of Hope Day to write about
the simple things in our lives that we can appreciate and enjoy...
remembering glimmers of the great Hope.

    ;-) Robin-song may be my favorite thrush-song.

  3. North of you, I saw my first robin yesterday too. I was wondering with the snow what he would eat. Today with the rain, the snow is receding. It is good you have a little spotter for your bird shots. Nice photo BTW. Tell Grace, she did mommy well. We liked her robin.

  5. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out His love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit whom He has given us. (Rom 5:5)

Haven't see the first robin here yet...hoping to see one soon :-)
